1PURPOSE AND SCOPE
1.1 This Policy states the warranty Autool USA, Inc. (“Autool”) gives on Autool-branded products, how a claim is made, and what is excluded. It
applies to product sold by Autool through an authorized channel in the United States.
1.2 Product not purchased through Autool or an authorized channel carries no Autool warranty. Grey-market and diverted product is excluded —
see Section 7.
1.3 Where a signed distributor or program agreement varies a commercial term of this Policy for one account, the variation is recorded in
Schedule 1. The rest of this Policy continues to apply to that account, and this Policy continues unchanged for every other account.
1.4 Who gives this warranty, and to whom
The warrantor is AUTOOL USA, INC., 25551 Whitesell Street, Hayward, CA 94545, United States — telephone (510) 439-9370, email
[email protected]. Autool USA, Inc. is the party that owes the obligations in this Policy in the United States.
This warranty extends to the original purchaser of the product and to any subsequent owner during the warranty period, provided the product
was bought through Autool or an authorized channel. It is not limited to the first buyer.
2WARRANTY PERIOD
from date of receipt, not date of sale
ITEM PERIOD RUNS FROM
Main unit Three (3) years Date the product is received by the purchaser
Accessories, cables, One (1) year Date the product is received by the purchaser
adapters, hoses, probes
Consumables and wear None See Section 7
items
Repaired or replaced parts Balance of the original period Original receipt date — a repair does not restart the period
2.2 Where the receipt date cannot be established, Autool uses the serial number to determine the shipment date from Hayward and adds thirty
(30) days. Serial numbers are recorded against every purchase order at dispatch.
3WHAT IS COVERED
3.1 Autool warrants that the product is free from defects in material and workmanship for the applicable period, and will perform to the
specification in the published documentation for that model.
3.2 Coverage is determined by actual failure assessment — Autool inspects the returned unit and decides on the evidence, not on a description
of the symptom.
3.3 Where a repair is made, Autool uses a new component, accessory or device. Refurbished parts are not used in a warranty repair.
4REMEDY — REPAIR, REPLACE OR CREDIT
Autool elects
4.1 On a valid claim Autool will, at its election: (a) supply the replacement part free of charge; (b) repair the unit; (c) replace the unit; or (d) issue a
credit.
4.2 Where a credit is issued it is at the net price the claimant actually paid, applied to the account. A credit is not a cash refund.
4.3 Where a part can be fitted by the user, Autool supplies the part and instructions rather than recalling the unit. This is the fastest route and is
the default for accessory failures.
4.4 REPAIR, REPLACEMENT, THE SUPPLY OF A PART, OR CREDIT IS THE CLAIMANT’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR A DEFECTIVE
PRODUCT. AUTOOL DOES NOT REIMBURSE LABOR, DIAGNOSTIC TIME, RENTAL OR LOANER EQUIPMENT, TOWING, RE-WORK, OR ANY COST
OF REMOVING OR REINSTALLING THE PRODUCT.
5HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM
RMA required before shipping
5.1 Follow these steps in order. Do not ship anything before step 3.
STEP WHAT TO DO
1 Find the model and serial number on the product label, and the invoice or purchase order it was bought on.
STEP WHAT TO DO
2 Email [email protected], or telephone (510) 439-9370, with the information listed in 5.2 below. Autool responds within two (2)
business days.
3 Autool issues an RMA number. Write it on the outside of the carton. Product arriving without an RMA number is refused, and refusal
does not extend any claim window.
4 Ship the product to AUTOOL USA, INC., 25551 Whitesell Street, Hayward, CA 94545, per the freight rules in Section 6.
5 Autool inspects within five (5) business days of receipt and confirms the outcome in writing.
6 Autool repairs, replaces, supplies the part, or issues credit within ten (10) business days of inspection — Section 4.
5.2 Every claim must include
Model and serial number of the unit.
Original Autool or distributor invoice number, or the purchase order the unit shipped against.
Description of the fault, what was being tested or serviced, and when it started.
Photographs or video of the fault where it can be shown.
Firmware version and any error code displayed.
5.3 Proof of purchase. An end-user receipt is preferred but not essential. Because Autool records the serial number of every unit against the
purchase order it shipped on, the serial number establishes entitlement and the warranty start date. A claim without a serial number, or on a
unit whose serial number has been removed or altered, cannot be processed.
5.4 Return the unit complete, in its original packaging where available, with the accessories relevant to the fault. Ship to: AUTOOL USA, INC.,
25551 Whitesell Street, Hayward, CA 94545, RMA number marked on the carton.

7EXCLUSIONS
7.1 This warranty does not cover:
Product not purchased from Autool or an authorized channel, including diverted, grey-market or counterfeit product.
Consumables and wear items — filters, seals, O-rings, gaskets, hoses beyond the accessory period, smoke fluid, blasting media, dry ice, probes
and tips consumed in normal use, batteries beyond the accessory period.
Failure caused by not following the product manual, by improper installation, by inadequate maintenance, or by use outside the published
specification.
Damage from impact, dropping, crushing, liquid ingress, incorrect voltage, reverse polarity, over-pressure, fire, flood or vandalism.
Product opened, disassembled, modified, repainted or re-labelled, or repaired by anyone other than Autool or a person Autool authorized in writing.
Unauthorized firmware or software, or any attempt to extract, copy or modify firmware, software or vehicle-coverage data.
Cosmetic wear that does not affect function.
Units with a removed, defaced or altered serial number.
Refrigerant-contaminated equipment where the contamination was caused by charging with an incorrect or contaminated refrigerant.
Lifts and fixed equipment not installed, anchored and commissioned in accordance with the manual and applicable local code.
7.2 DIAGNOSTIC OUTPUT IS ADVISORY ONLY. THE USER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING ANY READING, MEASUREMENT OR FAULT CODE
BEFORE PERFORMING, QUOTING OR RECOMMENDING A REPAIR. AUTOOL IS NOT LIABLE FOR A REPAIR DECISION TAKEN ON A DIAGNOSTIC
READING.
8DISTRIBUTOR AND RESELLER CLAIMS
8.1 A distributor or reseller holds the relationship with its own customer. The end user contacts the reseller first; Autool supports the reseller
behind it. A reseller may not offer a warranty, service commitment, performance claim or certification beyond what this Policy and the published
documentation state (AU-LEG-DA-01 §17.3).
8.2 Distributor credit window. Where a distributor program provides for credit rather than repair, Autool issues that credit for twelve (12)
months from the distributor’s invoice date. Beyond that window the warranty continues to the end user for the full period in Section 2 and
is handled by Autool directly, at no cost to the distributor.
8.3 Credit memos on distributor claims reference the distributor’s own return order number where one is issued, the Autool RMA number, and the
original purchase order number. A credit missing any of these will be queried and delayed.
8.4 Defective-on-arrival. Where a unit fails on first use, report it within the claim windows in AU-OPS-DS-01 §2.6 — visible damage or shortage
two (2) days, concealed damage five (5) days, wrong item five (5) days, non-receipt ten (10) days. A defective-on-arrival unit is replaced or
credited in full, with Autool paying freight both ways.
8.5 Warranty returns are not stock adjustments and do not count against any stock adjustment allowance. Stock adjustments are governed by AU-
OPS-RMA-01.
9YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, LIMITS AND GOVERNING LAW
read this section carefully
9.1 THIS IS A LIMITED WARRANTY. IT IS GIVEN BY AUTOOL USA, INC. IT DOES NOT COVER LABOR, DIAGNOSTIC TIME, REMOVAL OR
REINSTALLATION, OR THE CONSEQUENCES OF A FAILURE, AND IT IS SUBJECT TO THE EXCLUSIONS IN SECTION 7.
9.2 Implied warranties are limited in duration, not excluded
Autool does not disclaim any implied warranty. Any implied warranty that applies to the product, including the implied warranty of merchantability
and any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, is limited in duration to the duration of this written warranty as stated in Section
2.
For consumer goods sold in California, the implied warranty of merchantability is coextensive with this written warranty but runs for one (1) year,
which is the maximum the law allows — California Civil Code §1791.1(c).
9.3 SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY
TO YOU.
9.4 Damages Autool does not pay
Autool is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for lost profit, lost data, lost business,
downtime, vehicle damage or repair re-work, however caused. Autool's total liability on any claim is limited to the net price paid for the product
giving rise to it.
9.5 SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE
LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
9.6 THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.
9.7 Informal dispute settlement
Autool does not operate an informal dispute settlement mechanism under 16 CFR Part 703. If a claim cannot be resolved by the procedure in
Section 5, escalate in writing to the Autool USA Chief of Staff at the address in Section 1.4. Nothing in this Policy requires a consumer to use any
dispute procedure before exercising a legal right.
9.8 Rights that cannot be limited
Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under California law, including liability for death or personal injury
caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in this Policy is intended to disclaim or modify an implied warranty in a way prohibited by 15 U.S.C.
§2308 or California Civil Code §1793; if any provision would have that effect, it does not apply.
9.9 Governing law and amendment
This Policy is governed by California law. Venue is Alameda County, California. Autool may amend this Policy on thirty (30) days written notice;
the Policy in force on the date the product was received governs that product.
