1WHO THIS APPLIES TO
1.1 This policy applies where you bought a Product from Autool USA — through autoolusa.com, by telephone or by email — for personal,
family or household use.
1.2 If you are a dealer, distributor, repair shop or other business buyer, your returns are governed by AU-OPS-RMA-01 Returns and Stock
Adjustment and by any signed agreement you hold with us. Those terms are different, and this page does not change them.
1.3 If you bought from someone else — a dealer, a marketplace listing, or another website — see section 8.
2THE 30-DAY RETURN RIGHT
2.1 You may return a Product within thirty (30) calendar days of receiving it, for a full refund of the purchase price. No reason is needed.
You do not have to tell us why, though it helps us if you do.
2.2 The thirty days run from the day the Product is delivered to you, not from the order date. Where a Product ships in more than one carton,
the clock starts when the last carton arrives.
2.3 Proof of purchase. An order number, an invoice, a receipt or the email confirmation is enough. If you cannot find any of them, email us with
the serial number and we will try to locate the order.
2.4 Exchanges. You may exchange instead of refunding, within the same thirty days and on the same conditions. Where the replacement costs
more, you pay the difference; where it costs less, we refund the difference.
3CONDITION, AND WHAT IT COSTS
CONDITION OF THE RETURN RESTOCKING FEE RETURN FREIGHT
Unopened, factory seal intact None You pay
Opened but unused, complete, undamaged, resalable, in the original packaging None You pay
Used but complete, undamaged and resalable 15% You pay
Faulty — any condition None We pay — see section 5
Wrong item sent, or an item missing None We pay — our error
Damaged after delivery, incomplete, or missing original packaging Not accepted — see section 6 —
3.1 What complete means. The Product, its original box and packing material, and every accessory, cable, hose, probe, adapter, case, manual
and registration card that came with it. A missing accessory may be deducted from the refund at its replacement cost rather than causing the
whole return to be refused.
3.2 Resalable means we can sell it to the next customer as new. Scratches, missing labels, a damaged box, or fluids and residue in equipment
that has been connected to a vehicle all mean it is not resalable.
3.3 We will tell you before we charge you. Where inspection shows a restocking fee applies, or an accessory is missing, we will email you
with photographs and the amount before processing the refund, so you can tell us to return the Product to you instead.
4HOW TO RETURN SOMETHING
# STEP DETAIL
1 Email [email protected] within your 30 Give the order number, the Product and serial number, and say whether you want a
days refund or an exchange
2 We issue an RMA number, normally within one It is valid for fifteen (15) days. If it expires, ask for a new one — we will reissue it
business day
3 Pack it properly In the original packaging, inside an outer carton where possible. Write the RMA
number on the outside of every carton
4 Ship it to our Hayward dock AUTOOL USA, INC., Returns / RMA, 25551 Whitesell Street, Hayward, CA 94545.
Keep the tracking number
5 We inspect within 5 business days of receipt We confirm the outcome in writing, with photographs if any part of the return is
questioned
6 We refund within 10 business days of inspection To the original payment method. Section 7
4.1 No return without an RMA number. A shipment arriving at our dock without a valid RMA number on the carton is refused and returns at the
sender's expense. This is not a technicality — without the number we cannot tell whose Product it is or what was agreed.
4.2 Risk in transit is yours until we receive it. Pack it to survive the journey and keep the tracking number. Where a return is lost or damaged in
transit, the claim is against the carrier.
4.3 Large or freight-class items. Lifts, A/C recovery machines, compressors and other palletized equipment need a freight return rather than a
parcel carrier. Tell us before you book anything and we will quote the return and tell you how it must be crated.
5FAULTY PRODUCTS ARE A WARRANTY CLAIM, NOT A RETURN
and the terms are better
5.1 If a Product is faulty, do not use this page. Make a warranty claim under AU-OPS-WR-01 Limited Warranty Policy. The warranty is three
(3) years on the main unit and one (1) year on accessories and wear parts, from delivery to the first end user.
5.2 On a warranty claim you do not pay a restocking fee, and Autool pays the inbound freight within the first ninety (90) days. There is no
reason to use the 30-day return route for a fault.
5.3 Dead on arrival. Where a Product does not work on first use, tell us within five (5) business days of delivery and we will handle it as a
priority — replacement rather than repair wherever we can.
5.4 Transit damage. Note it on the delivery receipt at the time of delivery, keep all the packaging, and tell us within two (2) business days for
visible damage or five (5) business days for damage found after unpacking. Keeping the packaging matters — the carrier will want to inspect it.
6WHAT CANNOT BE RETURNED
Special-order and custom-configured Products, and factory-direct orders, once released to production or shipment.
Opened refrigerant, solvents and other hazardous consumables. Once the seal is broken these cannot lawfully be resold or shipped back as
ordinary freight.
Products altered, modified or repaired by anyone other than Autool or an authorized service provider.
Products with a removed, altered or illegible serial number.
Products damaged after delivery by misuse, accident, incorrect installation, incorrect voltage, or operation outside the limits stated in the manual.
Products returned without their original packaging, or incomplete, where the missing items cannot be valued.
Items sold as clearance, refurbished or final sale, where that was stated clearly on the product page at the time of purchase.
6.1 An item in this list is still covered by the warranty if it is faulty, and by your statutory rights under section 9. This section limits the no-reason
return right, not the warranty.
6.2 If we refuse a return, we will tell you why in writing with photographs, and hold the Product for thirty (30) days for your instructions before
disposing of it. Return freight on a refused return is at your cost.
7REFUNDS
7.1 What you get back. The purchase price you paid for the Product, plus sales tax, less any restocking fee that applies under section 3.
7.2 Original shipping. Where you paid shipping on the original order, that charge is refunded only where the return is because the Product was
faulty, the wrong item was sent, or an item was missing. On a no-reason return under section 2 the original shipping charge is not refunded.
7.3 How and when. To the original payment method, within ten (10) business days of inspection. Your bank or card issuer may take a few days
more to show it.
7.4 Where the original method is unavailable — a closed account, an expired card — we will arrange another method with you. We do not
issue store credit instead of a refund unless you ask for it.
8PRODUCTS BOUGHT SOMEWHERE ELSE
8.1 Returns go back to the seller you bought from. If you bought from a dealer, a marketplace listing or another website, that seller's return
policy applies and we cannot refund a purchase we did not take payment for.
8.2 The warranty is different, and better. Autool USA honors warranty claims on genuine Autool Products regardless of where they were
bought, provided the serial number is intact, while AU-SAL-AC-01 Authorized Channel Schedule remains unpublished. So even where we cannot
take the return, we can still handle a fault.
8.3 Products bought from our parent company's store. autoolstore.com is operated by ShenZhen AUTOOL Technology Co., Ltd. and is a
separate business with its own terms. A purchase made there is a purchase from them, not from us. We will still handle a warranty fault under
section 8.2, but a refund request goes to them.
9YOUR RIGHTS UNDER CALIFORNIA LAW
9.1 This policy adds to your legal rights. It does not replace them. Under the California Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and the federal
Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act you have rights that cannot be taken away by a return policy, a terms page, or anything we write here. California
Civil Code section 1790.1 makes any waiver of them void.
9.2 Implied warranty. Because we give a written warranty, we are not permitted to disclaim implied warranties and we do not. For consumer
goods, California Civil Code section 1791.1(c) gives you an implied warranty of merchantability of one (1) year, and that cannot be
shortened.
9.3 Repair, replace or refund. Where a Product cannot be repaired after a reasonable number of attempts, California law may entitle you to a
replacement or a refund rather than a further repair. Tell us if you think you have reached that point and we will deal with it rather than make
you argue for it.
9.4 Where to go if we get it wrong. Email [email protected] and ask for the matter to be escalated. If you are still not satisfied, you may
contact the California Department of Consumer Affairs, your local district attorney's consumer protection division, or the California
Attorney General's Office.
9.5 This page is displayed as the law requires. California Civil Code section 1723 requires a retail seller to display its refund policy clearly. This
policy is published on autoolusa.com, linked from the site footer and from every product page, and provided with every order.
AU-OPS-RT-01 Rev. A, effective 7 October 2026, published by AUTOOL USA, INC., 25551 Whitesell Street, Hayward, CA 94545. This policy supersedes all earlier
return and exchange statements published on autoolusa.com. It applies to purchases made from Autool USA for personal, family or household use. Business
purchases are governed by AU-OPS-RMA-01 and by any signed agreement. Nothing in this policy limits a consumer's rights under California or federal law.
